Altered bling Ikea alarm clock

Dear reader,

Just a quick blogpost about a little fun project I did the other day.

I had this cheap 0.99 eurocents alarm clock named 'Väckis' from Ikea and it was dull and not very attractive, but on the other hand cheap and practical. I bought a pack of acrylic stones the other day and immediately came up with the idea to stick them onto this little clock to alter it into an attractive bling bling alarm clock. It was a fun fast thing to make! I used tacky glue (any brand) for adding the stones and finished the clock with crystal glitter glue from Stickles in between the empty spaces. Very simple! Et voila! Isn't it much better like this?!

Collect moments not things

Dear reader,

Another blogpost today..... wow, my pace is good today. By far not a slow snail. Title of this blogpost is 'Collect moments not things', hence the same as on my latest handmade card. Do you mind....... I collect both, haha. But my favorite 'things' to collect is of course memories and moments. I have a lot of great moments in my mind, especially those shared with my beloved husband and my belated pets. Those are the best of the best, but also moments that were special like my first watch, my first performance on stage and also bad and very sad moments unfortunately, like the death of my father, and the betrayal of my family. Somehow I collect bad moments too and I can't get rid of them. 😢 Funny...... they should have some garbage center for bringing bad memories into, don't you think? That would be cool! But on the other hand....... i'm afraid it will be very busy up there then LOL. Anyway...... I thought this was a great saying for using on this card with those lovely vintage children. I guess they are brother and sister?! I have an almost vintage picture of me and my brother as well of which I thought when I saw these sweet children on this card. The picture is not as vintage as on the one I used on my card, but it's at least 45 years old, I think. Isn't it the cutest picture of me and my brother? I think it is. And what about our hair?! Sooooo vintage LOL. My mother always used to play with my hair and I hated it. She loved treating me like a doll (including throwing me into the corner when she didn't like to play anymore. It's true!) I had to go to school all dressed up, always. Brrr....... when I still of think of it. Thank God i'm free now. Keep on smiling, haha. Long story........ anyway....... this is a card that I wanted to show to you then. I hope you like the eyecandy for today! See you soon again!

Silver bells

Handmade earrings by Ingeborg van Zuiden
Hi there!

I'm back with silver bells. Yes yes, silver bells......... soon it will be Christmas time. Some of our garden centers already have their Christmas shows opened! So I figured I can choose the silver bells as a theme for my blogpost as well.
But no........ all funny things on a stick, haha (this is actually a Dutch saying directly translated into English and I know it sounds funny and it's not correct, but who cares....) ........ where was I.... oh yes...... funny things on a stick........ they are silver bells but totally different silver bells than the silver bells for Christmas. However you can wear these silver bells for Christmas of course, hehe. And these of my latest earrings are not all in silver by the way. I'm a bit blend today, as you noticed maybe. Just like the colors I choose for these earrings. I hope they inspire you once again. I used all kinds of beads for these, some vintage, some new, some acrylic, some chrystal. I love to feel free when it comes to using materials, so i'm not the kind of jewelry maker that only uses the best of the best materials. I just go for what I like and of course my budget plays a role into that as well. More to come!

Enjoy today, tomorrow may never come!

Mediocre paper art tag

Hi there,

What a title I came up with, huh? 😎 Somehow this title suited perfectly to describe my latest handmade tag that I wanted to show to you today. It's quite an ordinary tag actually but foremost the colorscheme is a bit of yellow and ocre, so that's how I tied the two things together in that title, hehe. I know, i'm weird, but it's the truth. And I always like telling the truth. 💖

Anyway...... this tag was a quick design I did and finally I managed to take pictures of some artwork that I finished lately, today. I'd planned to take pictures today but then this morning the weather was so dark and rainy that I had to wait for a ray of sunshine in between the bad weather. Luckily I managed to find one of those blessings. So.... with the help of a lampshade I did press out these photos then.

As like so many people in this world, momentarilly my mind is fully occupied with all the horror that is taking place in this world. My heart cries for so many people in need. We have to fight evil strongly and am praying for all who are suffering and need some love. Stay safe and pray for something good! Every little prayer is one, every little act of kindness is one, every sweet word is one. It all adds up to beating the devil! So spread some kindness today!

Spring Angels in October

Hi there,

It's right after 6 am here in the Netherlands. I'm an early bird today..... and all the days before 😪😊. I am having a hard time sleeping for years already but lately it's very bad. Nerve pain keeps me awake all the time, so it's better to eventually try to get up and focus on something positive and maybe try to take a nap later again. Ah well, that's life! Like I said in my former post, I have tons of artsy things I made to share with you but still need to take pictures and pictures and pictures and pictures of it all LOL. Now even the pictures are waiting as well to be shared, haha. I took the pictures of this handmade notecard hanger in August already and only now I found the space, time and spirit to share them! 😵 Haha, and I made this notecard hanger in Spring this year! Now, do you understand what my pace is lately? I'm like Gary from Spongebob Squarepants! 🐌 Soooooooo sloooooooow. But better late than never, isn't it! So here come my spring angels in October. It's never too late or early for sharing the angel message, so it's not a big deal that i'm late, I guess. I love the outcome of this little hanger. I love to make these notecards as well as they make use of sending a special note as well as giving a gift all in one. The hanger can be hung on a door, wall or cabinet after the message is read. I used a pretty heart image with angels, which you can download from the Wings of Whimsy blog or at Pinterest by Gunnvor Karita. Isn't it pretty? By the way.... speaking about blogging.......... i've noticed a lot of people and/or artists stop blogging and go over to social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook these days. I've tried Facebook and Instagram and i've concluded that it's not my type of thing. I think it's bulk, unpersonal and most of all I don't feel safe there. Here on my own blog it feels like my home, my safe haven, though I know the same big brother is watching me like on Facebook and Instagram. But it's what feels best for me, and I will stick to that. I assure you....... blogging will be hot again some day in the future! At the end people will want quality instead of quantity, i'm sure of that. So....... i'll be here and if i'm all alone here, than that's fine with me. I will be hanging in, just like the angels from spring who waited to be shown in October, haha. Have a wonderful blessed Sunday!
